So what is a VA?
Virtual assistants are those people who are working online . It’s as simple as that. They communicate with their clients using the Internet. VA’s and clients can come from the same or different countries or even from the opposite part of the world but they are still working together which was made possible because of the Internet. To clearly define this, let me give you some examples.
Example 1
A business coach from Australia needs a Contractor (VA) to help her manage her Facebook and Twitter accounts. She needs someone who can post on her behalf to this social networks and interact with her fans and to attract more people in her page.
Example 2
A company in USA needs people to handle multiple email accounts and send emails to their clients using a given template and remind some clients of their appointments through Skype.
Example 3
A blogger who wants support in managing her blog, answering to comments of readers and visiting different websites to post comments as well to blogs which will drive traffic(increase visitors) in her own blog or website. She also needs her contractor(VA) to post on facebook and twitter , Google+ and linkedIn. She is also responsible for posting her blogs to other social bookmarking sites such as Digg.
Example 4
An online marketer needs someone who could help him in some administrative task such as organizing his schedule, making PowerPoint presentations.
So what do you need to become a VA?
- laptop/computer with good internet connection
- a quiet place in your house, computer skills
- Basic Internet skills
- willingness to learn
- A can do attitude!
